Mixed media. 
Goethe's bust was made of jelly and placed in a glass container. The infusion bag hanging above was filled with tea - tea was dropping on Goethe's forehead, melting him slowly. The mixture was collected in a container, and would drain away with special pipes into the four glasses put on the pedestal, for the audience to taste.
